A Radio Hereford FC volunteer has spoken of his dismay at being relieved of his duties as a volunteer for the radio station due to a comment made on social media following the sacking of manager Peter Beadle.
Carl Haffenden, a lifelong supporter of the football club, received a message from Radio Hereford FC explaining that they had been requested to relieve Carl of his duties by Hereford FC’s volunteer co-ordinator Tony Taylor due to a post made on social media.

I can’t decide if I want HFC to start well tomorrow with Green & Davies at the helm or to get dicked and stick it to the board?!
If the club listen to the fans at games, there could be some other chants to act upon soon.
The club then sent Radio Hereford FC the following request:
‘Carl has not registered as an HFC Volunteer but he has co-commentated on Radio Hereford FC. We would expect the same restrictions on derogatory social media comments to apply.
So the request from HFC Board is that CH will not be doing anything official or as a Volunteer for HFC again and should not be contributing to Radio Hereford FC in the future.’
The decision is expected to result in a backlash from fans who back Carl. Carl has told Your Herefordshire that he is ‘bitterly disappointed’ that the club would treat him in this way after years of spending money to follow the club. In recent years Carl set up Hereford Goals (Live Video & Highlights) and helped many supporters unable to attend games to get a taste of the action.
We await the club’s response.
