After a blank week due to the weather, Pegasus entertained Thornbury Town at the KGD Stadium, seeking to avenge an away defeat in November.

The home side made most of the running in an open first quarter of the game.

In the twenty seventh minute the home side scored the first goal of the game albeit slightly fortuitously. Carlos Moreira, after a mazy run, shot goal wards from twenty five metres, the ball took a deflection off a defender and looped over the goalkeeper Mackenzie Welsh.

Ten minutes after the restart, Thornbury could have levelled when Harvey Pritchard, from a similar position from where Moreira scored the opener, fired a shot that skimmed the top of the crossbar.

On the hour mark, Pegasus were awarded a free kick when Moreira was felled on the corner of the penalty area. He took the kick himself, bending the ball around a three man wall, beating the gloveman at the far post.

In the seventy third minute, Moreira turned provider when he squared the ball across the box for Cawley Cox to turn home.

This seemed to provide extra encouragement to the visitors as they pushed forward gaining several free kicks. These were taken by Jack Shepard-Cozens, his delivery caused the home defence some anxious moments.

With eight minutes of normal time remaining, substitute Jack Smith got his name on the scoresheet for Thornbury Town, with a speculative volley from all of thirty five metres which somehow deceived the Pegasus keeper James Loader.

Next Saturday, Pegasus have an away fixture against Shrivenham, who beat Lads Club on Saturday.
