Pegasus climbed towards the heady heights of the Premier Division of the uhlsport Hellenic League with a comprehensive victory over Brimscombe and Thrupp at the KGD Stadium.

This was the first time Pegasus had scored five goals this season however, the victory was tainted by conceding two sloppy goals.

The visitors scored against the run of play from a corner inside ten minutes before the hosts scored twice before the interval.

Two more goals before the hour mark appeared to have secured the game. The Redmen provided the visitors hope by conceding another sloppy goal. A saved penalty kick and a goal in added time ensured Pegasus extended their winning run to four league games and unbeaten in five.

In the second minute Pegasus were awarded a free kick, taken by Jamie Price the ball was met by the head of Kyle Panniers who rattled the underside of the bar before being cleared to safety.

Jordan Williamson crossed from the right only for Cawley Cox to see his shot hit the crossbar.

Brimscombe gained a corner in the eighth minute and unchallenged Jack Hughes scored with a powerful header.

Undeterred, Pegasus continued on the front foot with Williamson having a shot deflected against the crossbar.

On the half hour mark Pegasus gained parity when a Carlos Moreira free kick nestled in the far corner of the net.

Three minutes before the interval the home side gained the advantage with a fine goal, the ball was played from midfield by Price to Matt James, his cross was headed home by Cox past a helpless Jordan Schofield.

Seven minutes into the second half Peggy extended the lead, new signing James Baldwin, from Pershore Town, crossed the ball from the left, Connor Davies-Austin was there to head over Schofield.

Shortly afterwards Cox finished a well worked move however, the linesman raised his flag for offside.

Minutes later following more good work down the left by Baldwin, he crossed the ball to the back post where James was able to score with a shot across the visiting gloveman.

In the sixty sixth minute the Gloucestershire based team were handed a life line, when a clearance hit Lewis Fletcher for an own goal.

Pegasus continued to dominate the team that were awarded Premier Division October Team of the Month with little success until added time.

Nathan Chowns-Higgs raced into the penalty area for an Adam Newbury through ball. He was bundled over, the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Jordan Schofield saved brilliantly diving to his left from Panniers.

In the ninety forth minute Peggy continued the search for another goal, Zac Powell scored his first goal for the club by firing home after a parry by the keeper.

A mention must be given to seventeen years old Development team goalkeeper Aiden Bryant, making a faultless first team debut.
