The Living Hope’s journey began last winter when they launched The Living Hope Hub, operating out of Union Coffee, supporting the Winter Night Shelter. During those challenging months, they provided a warm space, five-star quality nourishing meals, community connections, and pastoral care to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, operating seven evenings a week.

From the outset, The Living Hope has been driven by a clear mission: to deliver much-needed accommodation and comprehensive support to those in need.

To further this mission, they have recently partnered with Green Pastures, (www.greenpastures.co.uk) a national Christian social enterprise with 25 years of expertise in providing accommodation for homeless individuals. Through this collaboration, they are thrilled to bring these vital services to Herefordshire, now being able to offer immediate accommodation and support to individuals that have experienced homelessness.

Their new project provides “dry and clean” accommodation for males aged 25 years and over, designed to support individuals who have faced poverty, homelessness, or addiction. This environment offers them a chance to break the cycle and embark on a journey towards health and independent living. They aim to fill the critical gap for those who are truly ready for transformation—people who have reached rock bottom and need love, care, and support to make positive changes.

Their dedicated team of staff and volunteers work closely with each resident, creating personalised support plans that include essential life skills, money management, and engaging activities such as education, training, and volunteering. This holistic approach promotes overall wellbeing—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. A core focus will also be on rebuilding family relationships and social networks, crucial for long-term stability.

To provide comprehensive support, they also collaborate with partner organisations, local specialist agencies, and churches, ensuring that every resident has access to the resources they need for a brighter future.

Karl Reece, Partner Manager from Green Pastures, praised the initiative:

“Proving the people are indeed precious, The Living Hope have shown commitment and passion in establishing this wonderful new resource for Herefordshire. At Green Pastures, we are always encouraged to be working alongside fellow Christians in providing more than a house.”

The Living Hope expresses deep gratitude to their ongoing major financial supporters, including Green Pastures, as well as local Herefordshire businesses such as R88Media Website Services (Webdrex), Glasshouse Properties, Central Roofing, Beefy Boys, Bill Jackson Properties, Hereford City Rotary Club, JDD Cleaning Services, and many other individuals, businesses and Churches who continually support their mission.
