Plans for changes to be made near the Cathedral and next to the River Wye in Hereford appear to be a step further forward today after a decision was made to award a contract to undertake outline design and consultation for the Cathedral and River Wye Quarter as part of the Hereford City Centre Improvements (HCCI).
Yesterday, (30th August 2021), Herefordshire Council took the decision to award a professional services contract for the outline design and consultation of the Cathedral and River Wye Quarter as part of the HCCI to
Burroughs following an open competitive tender process.
The plans will cost the council £79,930.00, according to documents made available following tender.
The designs once published are expected to include improvements to Broad Street, King Street, Bridge Street and other smaller streets in the vicinity referred to as the Cathedral and River Wye Quarter. They are expected to include plenty of green infrastructure. Further improvements are also expected to be made in the High Town area, with the focus on improving the markets.
