The Brecon Mountain Rescue Team was called to the Elan Valley on Sunday afternoon, to support a group of walkers who had got into difficulty after one of the group started to show signs of heatstroke.

A spokesperson for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said:

“We were called out at 15.00 today to a family of 6 who had got caught out in the hot weather above Caban coch reservoir in the Elan valley.

“One of the group was showing early signs of heatstroke and they were unsure of their position. The group were located, assessed, treated and driven back to their vehicle.

“Thanks to the Elan Valley visitors centre staff for staying open and providing a cool room for the family to be assessed.

“We’re a team of 60 volunteers from all walks of life but we share the common passion of wanting to help people in difficult situations. Together we provide a 24/7, 365 days a year emergency rescue service, funded entirely by donations.
