A large increase in the number of new Coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom is expected today, after a reporting error in England led to no new cases being added to the total yesterday.

It is therefore expected that over 2,000 new cases will be recorded when figures are released later today. It is key to remember that these numbers will include all positive tests recorded over the past 48 hours, in comparison to the usual 24 hour update.

As of the 12th August, the total number of positive cases of the virus in Herefordshire remained at 893 since the start of the outbreak, with the vast majority of these recovering. Sadly, 57 people have died so far at hospitals in the county, with the most recent death being recorded on the 15th July.
