An update from Hereford FC on the return of football.

Further information has been received from The National League regarding the return to football and the necessary procedures, of Stage 1 and 2, all Clubs are required to have in place before Training can begin.

What does this guidance consist of?

Here are just some of the documents required before we can return to training and subsequently football at Edgar Street.

  • Covid-19 Policy – Football Operations
  • Covid-19 – Stage One and Two Training Procedures
  • Covid-19 Risk Assessment – Occupational Health risk Assessment
  • Covid-19 Form – Return to Football Consent Form Stage One and Two
  • Covid-19 Form Symptom Screening Questionnaire

Who does this guidance apply to?

These policies apply to all HFC employees, volunteers and members of the public who are on-site for legitimate reasons.

What is the Aim of these Combined Policies?

The aim of our combined policies is to protect our staff, volunteers, contractors, officials and visitors from Covid-19 by making us Covid-19 compliant.

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Adopting best practice
  • Empowerment
  • Adopting Track and Trace

Which activities have needed to be assessed under an Occupational Health Risk Assessment?

Some of the Activities that are included within these initial stages are Player Travel, Entrances to Edgar Street, Changing/Showers/Toilets, Dining/Kitchen Areas, Medical/Treatment Rooms, PPE, Medical Equipment, Indoor Environment, Laundry, Gym, Player Accommodation and Training.

This has been an enormous undertaking of work to just get Hereford FC to the Football Training stage.  The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers have been working against the clock, behind the scenes, to create the Covid-19 safe environment required with Stadium adaptations, working with Terence on the future delivery of Matchday Hospitality and ensuring there is maximum capacity for fans within Edgar Street for the start of the Season. This is all on top of the normal Pre-Season preparations and 5 staff currently still on furlough.

Andrew Graham, Chairman added “ Some of this work, created by the Covid-19 Pandemic, is thankless but I have only praise for the HFC Team, behind the scenes, who are all pulling together to make this happen.  None of this, however, comes without additional costs to the Club.  On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to thank all those who have contributed so far to the Boost The Budget #InThisTogether Campaign which is giving us additional income at this crucial time. This is an ongoing Campaign so please donate if you can”
