The HR2 area of Herefordshire is now showing up as a ‘high risk’ area on the NHS Test & Trace app.

The change occurred overnight, with other postcodes in the county altering from ‘medium risk’ to ‘in line with national restrictions’.

It has previously been reported that there has been a cluster of cases recorded in the Ross-on-Wye area of the county, which has led to a testing centre being set up in the town, but no other announcements have been made by Herefordshire Council or Public Health England in regards to this.

The month long lockdown in England that has come into force today, has the aim of slowing down the rate of infection in England to protect the NHS from becoming overwhelmed as we head into the busy winter period.
