Gary Bowen, who runs civil engineering firm WW Bowen and employs 35 people, was spared an immediate jail term over the attack following an incident at a wedding.

A businessman racially abused a neighbour, grabbed him, and punched him in the face repeatedly in a “frenzied” attack following an argument at a wedding.

Gary Bowen left Luq Ali with a permanent scar on his nose and injuries to his jaw after the assault outside his home in the early hours of the morning.

Speaking at Cardiff Crown Court, Mr Ali said: “I find myself replaying the incident over and over on a daily basis. I question why I would be attacked because of the colour of my skin.”

The court heard Bowen and Mr Ali were at a wedding in Glasbury, Powys, with their partners on May 27 last year.
