The number of COVID-19 cases in Herefordshire continues to rise, with concerns over a second wave of the virus across the United Kingdom.

In Herefordshire (Population 192,801) just three cases were recorded in the week up to 28th August, meaning that the infection rate was very low with 1.6 cases per 100,000 population.

In the week up to 4th September, this rose to 12 new cases, meaning that the rate of cases rose to 6.2 per 100,000 population.

With cases continuing to rise and 10 cases recorded in the past 48 hours, this rate is expected to continue to rise.

Hospitalisations remain low, with just one patients in hospital across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
