Update on the Start of Term

We now have all our students back and we are refining our measures and plans in response to new patterns in the way our students are studying and using College facilities. These measures will be incrementally improved over a period of time as we strive to balance educational and social needs with the social distancing required to ensure safety, and our students develop their study and down-time activities. We have made a good start but we always want to get better.

One area that is proving beyond our control is the transport situation, particularly on the Wales to Shropshire line run by Transport for Wales. I have involved the local Council and our Hereford MP, Jesse Norman, as the current provision is proving less than satisfactory for the needs of our Marches region. I have met representatives from the company and our case has now been taken on by Jesse Norman and the Council who have more influence.

I am sorry for the inadequacies of this situation and want to assure you that we are doing all we can to rapidly improve matters.

I hope your daughter, son or ward is enjoying their return or first few days with us. If you are able to make it, I look forward to talking to parents and guardians of new students on Thursday evening at our Teams live event.

Best wishes
Peter Cooper
