The number of Coronavirus cases in Herefordshire is continuing to rise with a further five cases of the virus confirmed yesterday, taking the total number of positive cases of the virus in the county to 974 since the outbreak started. 37 positive cases have been recorded in the past week.
This comes as news reached us last night that a case of the virus had been confirmed at Whitecross Hereford High School and that The Walwyn Arms at Much Marcle had also taken the decision to close after a customer confirmed that they had tested positive for the virus.
A letter to parents from Whitecross Hereford said the following:
Dear Parents and Guardians
We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed single case of COVID-19 within the school.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be assured that for most people, Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
The school remains open and providing your child remains well they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review.
