A Herefordshire pub has taken the decision to temporarily close after a customer tested positive for COVID-19.

The Walwyn Arms (Much Marcle) shared the following on Facebook yesterday evening:

In the interest of safety to our staff and customers we have temporarily closed the pub as a precaution due to a customer who works within the NHS advising us that they have tested positive for COVID-19.

Key staff are being tested and the premises will be deep cleaned before we reopen.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you understand our decision. We look forward to opening again as soon as we can and welcoming you back.

They also added the following shortly after:

Just to confirm it is a customer who has informed us they have tested positive they visited on the evening of Wednesday 9th September. They were routinely tested due to their work and have no symptoms. We are closing as a precaution only we are confident in our covid management procedures and hope to reopen soon
