There have been a large number of people calling for the government to announce an extra bank holiday on Monday, if England win Euro 2020.
Over 150,000 people have signed a signature that calls for Boris Johnson to announce a bank holiday, but the chances of it occurring are slim, with the government unlikely to support the idea. A more likely idea is a ‘day of celebration’ at a later date.
The petition states:
“England are playing a European Championship Final at 8pm on Sunday 11th July.
“It would be beneficial and sensible to give the country the day off the next day if England win, in the form of an extra Bank Holiday Monday.”
