Business owners in Hereford have been protesting this morning against Herefordshire Council’s decision to close the Old Bridge to all vehicles except buses, taxis, emergency services, pedestrians and cyclists.

Several business owners in the city have shared their concern over a lack of footfall and trade since the measures were introduced last month.

A small group also stood on the Greyfriars Bridge, with boards saying, “Honk to reopen the Old Bridge” and “Who do you think you are kidding Herefordshire Council?”

Herefordshire Council closed the Old Bridge and introduced new traffic measures throughout Hereford city centre following advice from central government to help support pedestrians and cyclists during the COVID-19 outbreak.
