A dog has died following a sickening attack by another dog at a popular spot in South Wales.

The incident occurred at Barry Island, in South Wales on Wednesday 5th March.

A post on social media said:

“Those who know me know that my sausage dogs are like my children.

“Unfortunately I lost one to an unprovoked attack on Barry Island beach last night moments after they were all happy paddling in the sea together.

“Heartbroken and traumatised really doesn’t cut it.

“If anyone has any information/pictures/footage of the dog and/or owner (it was a black staff) please get in touch.

“This happened at approximately 5:20pm-5:45pm. The owner took my number but hasn’t made contact.

“The dog ran over to mine and lock jawed on to my sausage dogs neck.

“My other dog ran off frightened, there was too much happening to ascertain his details as my priority was attending to my dog and his injuries.

“Please share far and wide – any information much appreciated.”
