Luctonians Celebrate a Successful 22nd Annual TAG Fest

On Wednesday 11th June, Luctonians RFC proudly hosted the 22nd annual Tagfest, welcoming over 30 teams from 15 local schools to the club’s Mortimer Park grounds.

The event, delivered through the Avara Foods Schools Community Outreach Programme, brought together hundreds of children for a day of sport, teamwork, and community celebration.

First held over two decades ago, TAG Fest continues to grow in stature and significance, becoming a highlight in the school calendar for many participating institutions.

This year’s festival once again showcased the power of grassroots sport in uniting young people through physical activity and shared experience.

The festival featured multiple competitions, with the following results:

Cup Competition:

Eardisley were crowned champions, narrowly defeating Madley by one try in a closely contested final.

Plate Competition:

Burghill secured a 7–3 win over Wigmore to take home the Plate.

Bowl Competition:

In one of the day’s highest-scoring matches, Kimbolton edged past Pembridge with a 7–5 victory.

Vase Competition:

Orleton triumphed 3–2 over Leintwardine in another tightly matched final.

Luctonians’ Director of Operations, Alex Smith, commented:

We were thrilled to welcome so many schools back for this year’s TAG Fest.

The festival has become a major event for local schools, and it’s fantastic to see the continued enthusiasm from pupils, staff, and volunteers alike.”

The club also expressed its gratitude to Avara Foods for their ongoing support of both the festival and the wider community outreach programme.
