Dan Pembroke has spoken to Your Herefordshire this morning and told us how excited he is to ahead of his F13 Men’s Paralympic Javelin Final that will take place on Thursday 2nd September at 12.20pm UK time.

Dan said:

“I am humbled by the support that the Herefordshire Community have given me in the lead up to the games.

“It has been a very tough couple of years prepping for the biggest competition of my life during the pandemic, but it has been made that much easier due to the help from the GV Fitness Centre in Pontrilas and the Hereford Halo Leisure Centre for letting me have access to thier facilities during the pandemic.

“I’m very fortunate to have such incredibly supportive neighbours, after a long days training they were always there to give me encouragement and I would like to thank all of you from Westbury Close.

“As I’m in the Paralympic village now I’m getting so many messages of support from friends, family and local people of Hereford and this kind of support really makes me feel invincible going into the competition. Thanks to you all.

“Also a special thanks to the National Lottery and its players for funding my preparation to the Paralympics. Their support makes it easier to train to my best without having any financial worries.”
