Hereford FC are looking for volunteers to support with putting frost covers down over the Edgar Street playing surface, ahead of some bitterly cold weather that’s forecast for the weekend.

Temperatures are set to fall to lows of -7c in Hereford and with the Bulls set to play at home on Tuesday evening, every effort is being put in to make sure that the fixture can go ahead.

A post on the official Hereford FC website said:

“We’re on the look out for volunteers to help cover the pitch with the frost covers at midday today.

“The forecast at present is for temperatures to drop below freezing and we want to do all we can to prepare the pitch ahead of our National League North game against Chester next Tuesday.

“The task is expected to take around 45-60minutes.

“Anyone who can help is asked to report to the main reception at 12pm. Whilst volunteers do not need to bring any tools, it is advisable to wear a strong pair of gloves.”
