After a 22-week build completed by local firm Thackway & Cadwallader, the Herefordshire Football Association recently reopened its offices, which now boasts 2 meeting rooms, national league system compliant changing room facilities and an extended car-park, in addition to offices for its permanent team of 9.

Alan Darfi, CEO, said ‘’it is great to have reopened the office facilities at the SSSAFA County Ground, which we are all immensely proud of. The office project and car-park extension represented a significant investment in excess of £300,000, however we were fortunate in that a large majority of this was sourced from our partners the Football Association, the Football Foundation and Herefordshire Council.

“With our main funding partner, the FA, confirming to all County FA’s in 2020 it was reducing the level of grant it pays to them, as a result of the covid pandemic, it became important that the HFA diversified its income streams.

“The new meeting rooms are fantastic and available for external hire during the day and evening, at highly competitive rates, meaning the investment in facilities and car-park has ensured income from that part of the organisation increases. As a not-for-profit, all profits are reinvested back into football, therefore this ensures we can continue to support the game and further increase our activities.

“Importantly, the changing rooms also ensure we are providing a top-class user experience to our pitch customers, when hiring our fantastic 3G all-weather facility’’.
