Simon Davey was appointed as manager, but was sacked early October 2010, Jamie Pitman, and (temporarily) Lennie Lawrence came in to steady the ship, and the club reached the 4th Round of the FA Cup with an away tie at Sheffield Wednesday. An administrative error in February 2011 meant the club was deducted 3 points, and subsequently were sucked into a relegation battle.
With a game to spare the team were safe from relegation due to a late Stuart Fleetwood equaliser against Bradford.
