HEREFORDSHIRE welcome back key all-rounder George Rhodes for their NCCA T20 trip to table-topping Devon on Sunday.

The former Worcestershire and Leicestershire man returns after missing the double defeat by Dorset at Eastnor in Herefordshire first group matches.

Herefordshire skipper Luke Tulacz will also welcome back Luke Powell who will resume wicket-keeping duties after missing the Dorset encounters due to a knee ligament injury.

There’s a first Herefordshire call-up for Bartestree & Lugwardine skipper Ryan Trattell who will bat in the middle-order and add to a strong spin-bowling section which will also include Ben Clements and Ciaran Baker-Smith.

Also returning is all-rounder Callum Bennett who impressed with a half-century and useful seam-bowling in the recent match against the MCC at Brockhampton.

Leading the seam attack will be James Rudge and Roshan Venkataraman who will be supported by Joel Cox as well as Bennett.

Overall there will be plenty of bowling options for Tulacz who could also add his own seam bowling into the mix.

Herefordshire will look for an improvement after defeat in both of their previous matches against Dorset.

A weak batting display in the first of those matches, which brought a crushing nine-wicket defeat, was followed by a much better display in the second match when Herefordshire scored their highest ever T20 score.

This, however, was still not enough to bring victory as Dorset chased down their target with a couple of balls to spare.

The scale of Herefordshire’s task on Sunday at Blundells School can be measured in the fact that Dorset, fresh from their two victories against Herefordshire, then went down twice to Devon in their following week’s double-header.

Herefordshire’s women are also in action on Sunday when they will look to build on their double success against Norfolk last time out when they take on Shropshire in a T20 double-header at Colwall.

Herefordshire: Luke Tulacz (capt), Ollie Cox, Joel Cox, Luke Powell, George Rhodes, Ryan Trattell, James Rudge, Roshan Venkataraman, Ciaran Baker-Smith, Ben Clarke, Callum Bennett. Twelfth man: Flynn Gunston.
