Over 60 people have been arrested at an anti-lockdown protest in London today.

The Metropolitan Police said that a number of demonstrators were arrested for breaching COVID-19 regulations and for various other reasons.

Those protesting shouted ‘shame on you’ and other jibes such as ‘no more lockdowns’ and ‘stop controlling us’ at officers during the protest.

The Met Police had urged people not to attend protests this weekend and warned that those who attend risk enforcement action by officers.

Protesting is not a permitted exemption to the prohibition on gatherings under current coronavirus regulations in England, the police force said.
