West Mercia Police have revealed the total number of FPN (Fixed Penalty Notices) handed out to motorists for using their mobile phone while driving.
In response to a recent freedom of information request, West Mercia Police revealed the following information.
West Mercia Police hold the information requested:
Figures for the number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued by your police force to drivers for the offence of using a mobile phone while driving (endorsement code CU80).
“I am seeking figures for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 to date, broken down by year.”
The total number of offences relating to use of a mobile phone per calendar year are:
2023 – 1155
2024 – 1730
2025 (until end Jan) – 120
