Plans for a music and apple festival in Hereford High Town have been revealed.

Former Mayor of Hereford Paul Stevens is fiercely proud of Herefordshire’s apple heritage and plans for a licence for an event to be held in High Town have been submitted to Herefordshire Council by Hereford City Council.

One of the initiatives spearheaded by Cllr Stevens is H’Applefest, destined to bring apple culture into the city of Hereford in Autumn 2022. Events will kick off with a music and apple festival in High Town on 1 October.

“In my opinion, Herefordshire is one of the spiritual homes of the apple,” says Cllr Stevens. We have some of the best cidermakers in the country. Let’s do more to give visitors a reason to come and experience it for themselves.”

The event would take place between the hours of 12pm and 9pm, with live music from local bands and a tent selling local ciders and perries in High Town.

We’ll have more on this in the coming weeks.
