A Leominster woman has been handed a 2 year Criminal Behaviour Order which was granted by Worcester Crown Court 0n Tuesday 26 October.
On Tuesday 26 October at Worcester Crown Court. Charlotte Walker who is 23 years old was issued a 2 year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) her conviction for Affray.
The CBO was granted on application by West Mercia Police due to Charlotte Walker causing a significant amount harassment and distress to local businesses, members of the public and the wider community with repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in Leominster.
The behaviour was found to have caused alarm and distress to the public and over recent years she has been subject to a significant amount of police contact and interventions. The majority of these have come about as a result of her behaviour which in the main has impacted on the safety and well-being of others.
Charlotte Walker is prohibited from:
- behaving in such a way to cause or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person in any public place or place where the public have access; which will not be limited to displaying abusive, threatening, obstructive or aggressive conduct whether face to face or by telephone / social media platforms, shouting, swearing or any other disorderly conduct.
- being in possession of an open vessel of alcohol within the attached map area. (Leominster PSPO alcohol restriction map)
- entering any licensed premises with an on-licence to sell alcohol within the attached map area. (Leominster PSPO alcohol restriction map)
- entering CORN SQUARE, THE GRANGE & CAR PARK, GRANGE WALK, except for access for shops and businesses between 0900-1700hrs daily. This does not include any access to any licensed premises with an on-licence to sell/provide alcohol. (Map in relation to Prohibition 4 & 5)
- entering SYDONIA RECREATION GROUND – Coningsby Road, except to attend Halo Leisure Centre to undertake physical exercise upon payment for that activity. Once that paid activity has been completed, she is required to leave the area immediately. (Map in relation to Prohibition 4 & 5)
PC Alice Bennett said: “Charlotte Walker has placed significant and unnecessary demand on the emergency services through her reckless behaviour. She has disrupted the lives of members of the public going about their daily business, impacted on local businesses operating in Leominster and has caused distress and compromised the safety of residents in Leominster. Despite being offered support many times by professionals and warned about her conduct she has persisted in acting in this manner.
“The issuing of this order will hopefully prevent her from acting in this manner in the future.”
West Mercia Police request that members of the public report any breaches of the Criminal Behaviour order via 101 or online reporting.
Note: The powers to issue a Criminal Behaviour Order are contained in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 where behaviour has found to have caused alarm, distress or harassment.
