Train passengers using West Midlands Railway services can now access real-time information about their journey to help them travel with confidence.

The ‘Live Train Progress’ feature has been developed by GoMedia in association with its parent company Icomera and is available on every journey by simply accessing the on-board Wi-Fi.

The feature provides customers with real-time station calling times, with any disruption to journeys taken into account, as well as departure information for any onward train connections.

To stay up to date on board, travellers can simply connect their device to the operators’ Loop Wi-Fi where they will be automatically directed to ‘Live Train Progress’.

If that’s not enough, the service also offers entertainment including fantastic TV shows, exciting movie trailers, and the latest sport, news and weather.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said: “With planning ahead so important in these uncertain times, this latest initiative is just one of the steps we’re taking to help customers travel with confidence.

“Our passengers are at the heart of everything we do and launching this new enhanced service will be a useful resource to ensure they can plan their journey, access live updates, and explore a range of media content for entertainment.”

Roger Matthews, managing director at GoMedia, said: “We’re pleased to have worked together with West Midlands Railway on these new passenger-focused projects. Providing real-time information and onboard entertainment is a proven way to help make public transport more attractive, simplifying journey planning and making trips more enjoyable for passengers.”
