From West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre:
Due to a severe lack of funding we have been forced to close our waiting list for our Herefordshire and Worcestershire counselling services until further notice. This decision has not been made lightly, we desperately want to be able to provide our services to anyone that needs them, but despite our best efforts we cannot secure the funding we need to do so.
Most referrals into WMRSASC come from the NHS, GP’s, social care and the police. However outside of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office, WMRSASC does not receive any local statutory funding.
We will continue to strive to get the funding we need to provide the services we know are so desperately needed, and offer our sincere apologies to anyone who this may affect.
