West Mercia Police have confirmed that a bomb disposal team was called to Ross-on-Wye on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to the Oaklands area of the town following the discovery of a what was believed to be a bomb.
The discovery was made in a slip in the area.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“We were called to Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire around 6:30pm on Tuesday 6th June after an unexploded ordnance was discovered in a skip.
“The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended and disposed the device safely.”
