Police were called to Wylds Lane in Worcester at 3.20pm today (11 January) following reports of a serious assault.

Two men were injured during the incident and were transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by ambulance. One of the victims, a 49-year-old male, has sustained serious injuries.

Two men, aged 23 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are in police custody.

There is a heavy police presence in the area whilst investigations continue. This is likely to remain for some time.

Insp Fergus Green, said: “We understand that incidents of this nature, and a large police presence, can be concerning for the public. I would like to reassure residents that we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.”
