Two flood alerts are in place in Herefordshire following heavy rain over recent days.
The flood alerts are in force on the River Leadon, near Ledbury, and the River Lugg, south of Leominster.

River Lugg south of Leominster:
“River levels are high but steady at the Lugwardine river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today, 23/11/22. We expect flooding to affect Low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford.
“Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high in the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation.
“Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and call 999 if in immediate danger.
“This message will be updated by 10am on 24/11/22, or as the situation changes.”
River Leadon Catchment:
“River levels are forecast to rise at the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible over night tonight 23/11/22.
“We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Leadon. Locations that may be affected include Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton. Water may be out of bank at Upleadon Court. Further rainfall is forecast tomorrow Thursday 24/11/22.
“We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
“This message will be updated by 10am on 24/10/22, or as the situation changes.”
