The family of a woman who died following a house fire in Gloucester have issued a tribute.
Emergency services were called to a report of a fire on Attlebridge Way in Kingsway, at around 5.25pm on Wednesday (8 July).
Officers attended the scene along with crews from the fire and ambulance services and a woman was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with severe burns.
Amy Louise Stafford, aged 42, sadly died from her injuries later that evening.
Amy’s family have now issued a tribute to her saying: “Our beloved daughter and sister Amy has tragically been taken from us. We do not have adequate words to express how we feel.
“A bright light in our lives has dimmed forever, our hearts will always seek out the warmth and love she brought to us all.
“We would like to give our thanks and appreciation to all of the rescue services who fought tirelessly to save our darling girl.
“Our love goes out to all Amy’s family and friends near and far. Goodbye dearest Amy, sleep now, we are so proud of our independent lady.”
A cordon was initially put into place at the address to enable investigators from Gloucestershire Police and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to conduct their examinations.
Scenes of Crimes officers, alongside Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service investigators, have now concluded their search and assessment of the scene and are satisfied there is nothing to suggest third party involvement.
Enquiries are continuing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
