Torrential rain has lead to a number of reports of standing water and flooding on routes in Herefordshire this morning.
We’ve received updates regarding the following routes:
A465 (Hereford to Abergavenny Road) – Standing water across the road in places.
Holme Lacy Road in Hereford – Standing water across the road in places, particularly in Rotherwas.
Asda Roundabout Hereford – Standing water quite deep in places.
A44 (Kington to Leominster) – Standing water across the road in places.
A4110 (Hereford to Canon Pyon) – Standing water fairly deep in some areas.
A49 (Ross Road in Hereford) – Standing water close to the junction with Walnut Tree Avenue
Clehonger Village – Flooding near the Seven Stars pub. Passable with care.
Further heavy rainfall is expected with a warning in place until midday for Herefordshire.
The warning is as follows:
âAn area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will move quickly eastwards across Wales and southwestern England into parts of central, southern and eastern England during Wednesday morning.
âMany areas will see a spell of rain whilst some places will be affected by thunderstorms bringing a brief period of heavy rain, lightning, and strong, gusty winds with hail also affecting some spots.
âGusts will tend to peak at 40-50 mph, but whilst very unlikely in any one place, much stronger winds are possible here and there, then potentially damaging some structures.â
