Three Hereford charities will be sought from later this week to feature on a brand new official MONOPOLY game for the city.

The charities will each get to star on each of the game’s three Community Chest spaces.

“It’s our way of thanking the public for getting behind the brand new Hereford MONOPOLY game so very enthusiastically,” says Ella Gibbs, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, who are producing the game under licensing from Hasbro.

Earlier this month it was announced that Hereford is getting its very own official version of the world’s most game popular board game

At the time the public being invited at the time of the announcement to send in general nominations and suggestions for landmarks and organisations to feature in the game. Polling for these landmarks closes very soon. And after they do .. will re-open, specifically for nominations for the three charities to star in the game.

To qualify and be in the running to be selected as one of the three, the charities have to be Hereford focused and be official charities. Ms Gibbs added:

“We would like to formally thank each and every person who has sent in nominations so far and as our way of a big thank you, three Hereford charities will now get to star in the game. We feel that charities getting to feature on all of the game’s three Community Chest spaces is a great fit, bearing in mind the ‘community’ aspect of these unique MONOPOLY features.”

Hereford saw off 24 West Midlands rival to land the MONOPOLY honours for this year. There is a famous Community Chance card in the original MONOPOLY version which says: ‘You have won Second Prize in a Beauty Contest’. Well it has now very much won FIRST prize!

In all 30+ Hereford landmarks and favourites will be showcased in the game. Over the last 25 years Winning Moves UK has produced official versions of MONOPOLY .. from Dubai to Dublin and Palm Springs to Sydney. Now the dice is rolling upon Hereford.

Full details will be announced later this week
