Emergency services were called to an incident near the River Wye in Hereford in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Members of the public reported seeing emergency services on the Old Bridge and near the Victoria Bridge.
West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and a Search and Rescue team all attended the incident.
The incident occurred at around midnight, with emergency services in the area for over an hour.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Officers have recovered a women’s body in the River Wye in Hereford yesterday evening (8 March).
“The body was discovered around 11.30pm.
“The identity of the woman is currently unknown and an investigation is on-going into identifying her.”
