Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision between a car and a cyclist in Worcester on Friday night (Friday 25 September).
The collision occurred at around 10.15pm on the A4440 Swinesherd Way involving a white Suzuki Swift and a man on a pedal cycle.
The Suzuki was travelling along the A4440 from the junction of Whittington Road onto Swinesherd Way, towards the junction of the A44 when it was in collision with the bicycle.
Unfortunately, the cyclist – a man in his 60s – sustained serious injuries and, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was declared deceased at the scene a short time later.
The driver of the car, a 17-year-old girl, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving is currently helping police with enquiries.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, who may have seen the vehicles or may have dashcam footage is encouraged to get in touch.
