A Herefordshire school will be closed today, following a power failure that occurred on Tuesday, when students were sent home early.

Fairfield High School in Herefordshire shared the following update on the Herefordshire Council School Closures page:

“Due to a partial power failure there is not heating or hot water and the kitchens cannot provide food.

“School will therefore close at 11am.”

An update on Tuesday afternoon confirmed that the school would also be closed on Wednesday. 

An update shared said:

“Due to the need for parts for repairs to ensure Health and Safety compliance, Fairfield will be running as a virtual school on the 10th January, please check Google classroom for details.”
