Staff at Special Metals Wiggin in Hereford say that they haven’t been paid today.

A number of concerned staff have contacted Your Herefordshire after noticing that their months pay hasn’t been paid into their bank accounts this morning.

The Special Metals Wiggin Ltd pay cycle means that staff were expected to receive their pay this morning (20th May).

It comes as the company makes further redundancies and continues to be in a pay dispute with the union.

Earlier this month, we shared the news that up to 75 staff were set to be made redundant by the company.

“The company (Special Metals Wiggin Ltd) located on Holmer Road in Hereford, could make up to 75 staff redundant in the coming months, a source told Your Herefordshire.

“A number of staff were made redundant earlier this year, with the company making decision to save money.

“Your Herefordshire understands that workers at the company are currently pushing for an improved pay offer, with little movement after several months of negotiations.”
