Prince William has visited Hereford Cathedral this morning, to attend a memorial service.

Your Herefordshire understands that the memorial service was in memory of SAS navigator and intelligence officer Mike Sadler, who died in January.

Members of the public reported seeing an increased police presence in the city throughout the morning, with a number of officers seen patrolling routes and walkways near the Cathedral.

Mike Sadler, who died aged 103, won both the military medal and the military cross as an honorary “founding member” of the wartime SAS before going on to a long career in the British secret intelligence service MI6.

It’s Prince William’s second visit since returning to Royal Duties.

Prince William was handed two get well soon cards on Thursday in Surrey, as he carried out his first royal visit since his wife, Princess Catherine announced she had cancer.
