West Mercia Police have provided an update after a two-year-old child was critically injured in a dog attack.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Police were called by the ambulance service shortly before 11.20am yesterday (28 March) following a report of a 2-year-old child injured by dogs.
“After receiving initial treatment at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the child was transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital yesterday evening. He is in a critical but stable condition.
“We can confirm that three dogs have been removed from the property in Egdon and have been secured, therefore there is no further risk to the public.”
South Worcestershire local policing commander, Superintendent Rebecca Love, said: “This is a truly upsetting incident for all individuals who have been involved, and our thoughts remain with the child and his family at this difficult time. Incidents of this nature are rare in our area but we do understand how distressing they can be for the local community.
“A thorough investigation is underway and we will share any relevant updates in due course.”
