There was a large police presence in the village of Clehonger yesterday evening, following reports of a theft in the village.
Local residents reported that a number of officers were seen detaining a man following a search that involved a police helicopter and a large police presence on the ground. Police are yet to confirm the reasoning for their presence in the village, however it would appear that it was linked to the theft of a digger from a business in the area.
At least one arrest was made and the digger was successfully recovered and returned to its owner.
