West Mercia Police officers were informed after Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service described a fire in Hereford as suspicious in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two crews from Hereford Fire Station attended the incident in Widemarsh Street at just before 2am on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 01:55 on 8 October to a house fire in Widemarsh Street, Hereford.
“The fire involved a garden fence adjacent to a domestic property which was fought using a hosereel jet.
“Widemarsh Street was closed in one direction by fire service personnel.
“There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended, but police were informed due to the suspicious nature of the incident which was marked as pending closure at 02:58.”
