Police confirm that officers have discovered the body of a missing 69-year-old man.
From Gwent Police:
Officers carrying out searches as part of a missing person investigation found the body of a man in water off Corporation Road, Newport, at around 5.10pm on Monday 3 February.
Police were then assisted by the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).
Family attended and have formally identified the man as Frank Bayley, 69, from Newport, who was reported as missing.
‘Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.’
