Gloucestershire Constabulary appealing for bus users in Gloucester who may have witnessed a man committing a lewd act on their route to come forward.
The incident happened between 7.10am and 7.45am on Tuesday 6 September, on a Stagecoach bus travelling between Gloucester and Cheltenham.
A man got on the number 94 bus at Gloucester Bus Station and sat next to a teenage girl at the back of the vehicle.
He then began looking at his phone while he appeared to be touching himself inappropriately.
The girl, who was deeply distressed, reported the incident when she got off the bus in Cheltenham.
Police would like to speak anyone on the bus at the time who may have seen anything suspicious.
The man is described as being white, tall and of a slim to medium build. He was aged between 40 and 50-years-old, and had short black hair and glasses.
The man was wearing a pair of dark grey or black jogging bottoms and a t-shirt.
