Hereford Business Improvement District are once again hard at work in the city centre with the mission to add extra sparkle to the city’s streets.
When it comes to attracting visitors to the city centre, making a good first impression is vital. So, to ensure that Hereford’s streets are clean and welcoming, and that visitors enjoy a pleasant vist, the team at Hereford BID are dedicating time in the coming weeks to this task.
This work builds on the deep-cleaning that began last year when HBID invested in a specialist pavement cleaning machine. Between 12th July and 11th August, the Hereford BID’s Handy Team will be tackling specific problem or high-traffic areas to remove the build up of dirt and debris and ensure that our streets are looking their best.
The dates and locations for cleaning are:
Commercial Street: Tuesday 12th of July and Thursday 14th of July, 10:00 – 15:00
Broad Street: Tuesday 26th of July and Thursday 28th of July, 10:00 – 15:00
Church Street: Tuesday 9th of August, 17:00 – 22:00
St. Peter’s Street: Thursday 11th of August, 15:30 – 20:30 = St. Peters Street.
This pavement deep cleaning initiative is part of Hereford BID’s The Hereford Experience project, one of three areas outlined in the business plan voted for by members. All work done by the BID for this project, including the installation of hanging baskets and removal of chewing gum, is designed to provide an additional level of cleanliness and service for member businesses, on top of those provided by the council.
Enhancing the Hereford Experience
Creating a welcoming environment for locals and visitors is at the heart of The Hereford Experience. The BID Handy Team continue to enhance the Council’s service delivery by adding that extra shine to the city’s streets and pavements and business storefronts.
The Floral City campaign provides colour through planters and hanging baskets, Christmas trees in November and December spread festive cheer, and striking visitor maps for businesses make sure anyone who visits is well looked-after.
