One person was taken to hospital following a collision overnight.

The collision occurred on the A49 (Edgar Street) in Hereford, and involved two vehicles at the Blackfriars Street junction.

One vehicle ended up smashing through a hedge and into the Waitrose car park.

Edgar Street was closed in a southbound direction while recovery of the vehicles involved took place.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called to reports of a two-car RTC on Auctioneer Walk at 9.49pm, a paramedic officer attended the scene.

“We treated one patient, a man who was the driver of one of the cars, for minor injuries before he was taken to Hereford County Hospital.”
