The number of people with COVID-19 at hospital in Herefordshire has risen to 20, latest data released by NHS England earlier today revealed.
The data released by NHS England shows that on the 5th October, a total of 20 patients had COVID-19 at hospital in Herefordshire (Wye Valley NHS Trust). This shows an increase from the previous week when 13 patients had COVID-19.
It should be noted that despite a rise in the number of patients with COVID-19, there is good news with the number of patients requiring mechanical ventilation falling from 4 down to 2 patients.
Another piece of good news is that despite Herefordshire recorded over 1,000 new cases in the seven day period ending 2nd October, the number of patients being treated for COVID-19 at Hereford County Hospital remains far below the peak seen at the start of the year when over 120 patients had COVID-19 at hospital in the county.
Overall in the UK, a total of 4,982 patients have been admitted into hospital with COVID-19 in the past seven days, a decrease of 3.4% in comparison to the previous week.
