The Longtown Mountain Rescue Team have had a busy day, with one team helping to rescue a young man who had suffered a medical incident on Skirrid Fawr and another team attending an incident in Hereford.
A spokesperson for Longtown Mountain Rescue Team said:
“Today, at around midday, the team were contacted by Gwent Police asking us to respond to a young man having a medical incident on Skirrid Fawr.
“With half of the team involved in a separate callout in Hereford, we sent some local team members to the scene while putting out an ‘area call’ to our neighbouring MR teams – with Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team both responding by sending people, kit and vehicles.
“After ensuring that there were adequate people en route, Central had to divert to another callout in their area, which we will leave them to tell you about.
“The young man was treated by MR medics, stretchered off the hill and escorted to hospital. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
“This callout was a great example of inter-team working and cooperation, and as always we thank our colleagues for their support.”
