A man has been jailed for a serious assault in Hereford.

Steven Mason, 33, of Rolle Street, Exmouth, was sent to prison for 10 years.

He was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday 10 November.

On 27 March 2021, Mason attacked six people who were gathered in and around a car parked on Watery Lane, Hereford.

Weapons were used in the attack that left the victims needing hospital treatment for serious injuries.

Following investigations, Mason was arrested and subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Detective Sergeant Jim Moore said: “This was a violent attack that caused serious injuries to several people.

“We are committed to tackling violence and ensuring West Mercia is a safe place to live and work.

“We hope this sentence sends a strong message that anyone engaging in violence will be prosecuted and the consequences will be severe.”
